SILVIA COLLOCA

Silvia Colloca is an Italian born food writer, TV producer and host. She has authored five cookbooks, Silvia’s Cucina, Made in Italy, La Dolce Vita (all published by Penguin) and Love, Laugh, Bake!Simple Italian. Silvia is due to release her sixth cookbook in 2024 called The Italian Homecook. Silvia is also a regular contributor to Delicious and Delicious On Sunday since 2014. Her most recent TV series was for SBS Food, “Cook Like an Italian” with three series now selling around the world. Her next series comes out in 2024 for Channel TEN, called Silvia’s Italian Masterclass.

Silvia has co-written, co-produced and hosted the much loved SBS show “Made In Italy with Silvia Colloca”, shot on location in Le Marche and Abruzzo regions, which gathered a worldwide following of passionate food lovers. This show also earned her a TV WEEK LOGIE Award nomination as the Best New Talent in 2015. Silvia is also the co-writer, co-producer and host of the 2016 ABC prime-time show “Silvia’s Italian Table”.  

And there is more to Silvia’s bow than food and cooking. As a celebrated Opera Singer and versatile actress, Silvia has a huge range of presenting skills, that makes her able to move seamlessly into different styles of hosting roles. In 2022 she produced her first Solo Classical Album for Universal Music, which sat at the top of the Classical Charts for over 20 weeks, and was asked to sing with Andrea Bocelli at his Sydney concert, which was a once in a lifetime experience.

Silvia is currently the Ambassador for Essteele Cookware. sharing her love for quality made Italian cookware, as well as D'orsogna Smallgoods.

But it’s in the kitchen where Silvia is most at home, where her style is unfussy and friendly, using simple ingredients to create easy to replicate dishes, suited for the whole family. Silvia’s presentation is funny and warm and peppered with interesting facts and personal anecdotes about the legacy of Italian cooking. Her passion is to share delicious recipes that have been passed down through her family for generations. Her food is traditional, authentic, simple, and embedded in the legacy of the hands of her mother and grandmothers.
